Following yesterday's announcment from the Scottish Government, Members are reminded that they are expected to adhere to the Covid restrictions currently in place (below).
CURRENTLY:
- To minimise the risk of spreading the virus, you must stay at home as much as possible. By law, in a Level 4 area, you can only leave your home (or garden) for an essential purpose.
- Local outdoor informal socialising, recreation, sport or exercise is permitted. This can be in groups up to a maximum of 4 people from a maximum of 2 households, plus any children under 12. Outdoor socialising, recreation and exercise can start and finish at a place in your local authority area (or up to 5 miles from its boundary). For exercise, you should travel no further than you need to reach to a safe, non-crowded place.
- To participate or facilitate in an organised outdoor non-contact sport or exercise in groups of up to 15 people.
FROM 2nd APRIL:
- Lifting the ‘Stay at Home’ requirement and replacing it with a ‘Stay Local’ message (retaining the current, local authority-based travel restrictions for at least a three-week period).
FROM 26th April:
- Extending outdoor socialising to permit up to 6 people from up to 3 households to gather.
- Travel within all of mainland Scotland permitted (subject to other restrictions that remain in place).

NEWS UPDATE June 22nd
"As a result of uncertainty over easing of lockdown,
and the cancellation of all Competitions, the Club will not be hosting
an Annual Dinner and Prizegiving this year. However, the intention is to
offer a subsidised "Pie, Peas, and Pint" event at a future date, once
restrictions are lifted. Date and Venue to be decided: watch this space."
"The Committee are disappointed to note that some
members were seen fishing during the lockdown phase, in breach of
regulations. The Constitution clearly states that "the conduct of the
Members shall be above reproach". As a result, the reputation of the
Club has been called into question, and the Committee are in discussion
on what - if any - sanction will apply."
"Poachers have been a particular problem this year.
Members are encouraged to cal the Police on 101, should they see
Poachers operating. The more frequently the Police get called, the more
likely they are to attend. Being aware of their own safety at all times,
if Members feel confident, they may advise Poachers the fishing is
restricted to Members only, and fly-only.

NEWS UPDATE: President's Address
Hi, It’s that time of year again and the season is nearly upon us!
May I take this opportunity to congratulate our junior champion Josh Elkin on his success with the Scottish team and also to this years’ competition winners. The annual prize giving dinner was a very good evening and thanks to our top table guests and honoured guest Mr Paul Young.
Over the last year we have carried out some improvements to the west hut by installing a solar panel to supply power for lighting. We have fitted protective steel shutters that now open, improving views over the loch. Unfortunately this year we need to carry out more repairs to the hut due storm damage and hope to fit double glazing windows, replacing the old wooden ones (if I learn to read a tape measure). We rely on members to help in the repairs and this keeps the cost down any member can come along and help even if only to make tea and give moral support. As we all know the club finances are not the strongest they have been and this is why the committee decided to post our yearly accounts on our web site. This move will save in excess of £200 pounds on printing and postage.
There have been one or two complaints as to wether this is the right way to go; I myself do not see a reason not to do this as our accounts are made public when we apply for grants and as a private members club, we have an obligation to maintain a transparent set of accounts. I understand that members do not have a computer or no how to work them, as I said in my last letter the committee meet the first Tuesday of the month and any member can attend or leave a letter for us and can also email the Secretary. The committee is not perfect and we do make mistakes me especially. I have been infirmed by one of our member that my annual report should have been written and posted two weeks ago I can only apologise to you all.
Can I now thank my committee for their help over the past season and a big thanks to Alex Cameron for his invaluable help at the prize giving dinner also a special thanks to Stef Flynn for inviting Mr Paul Young. I am sorry that Stef has decided to leave the committee. I hope all our members new and old have a good season and tight lines to all.
Edward B.G. McCallum MbII
Honorary President

NEWS UPDATE: . Saturday 11th August we will be hosting our Annual Loch Tidy and family day out. A Barbeque will be laid on, courtesy of our honorable President. This is a chance for members to put something back, and ensure the loch and banks look well-tended and presentable. In many ways, this is the "public face" of the Club, so lets have a good turnout to get the place neat and tidy. Meet at the West Hut from 11am.
